The image above says it all. Josh, fully focused, breathing steadily, placing his feet right on the cliff of that volcanic crag that shapes the walls of La Candelilla in Arucas. A vertical, wild and beautiful spot where every hold feels carved by the trade winds.
This climbing day was exactly that: challenging yourself, learning and enjoying, under Gran Canaria’s bright blue sky.
🌋 Climbing on volcanic rock: a different sensation
La Candelilla is a sector that combines technical moves, clean crimps and steps that demand balance and determination. For many clients, it’s their first time feeling real volcanic rock—and they end up loving it more than they expected.
Josh was no exception. We started with an easier route to warm up, and little by little he grew more confident, moving just like in the photo: steady, grounded and fully in the moment.

During our Climbing Days in Gran Canaria, we always adapt to each person’s rhythm.
With Josh, we worked on:
- Movement and balance techniques
- Efficient footwork
- Body positioning on exposed sections
- Safe progression on bolted routes
- Building confidence and mental control at height
And most importantly: clients finish the day feeling real progress, not just “trying” climbing.
